My Apartment complex is on fire - Updated
WOO HOO MY apartment complex is on fire! Looks the apartment 2 under me is on fire! Way Coolness! More later.

Updated - It was weird I was walking around my own compartment smelling something. IT was strong enough that I thought I turned on like the pizza over or the stove and left it on near some plastic. So I looked at it and after a moment the though the complex could be on fire. I was like nah that would never happen. Like clockwork the alarm rang. I knew that this could be a real fire. In a moment if I could only have 2 things in my life what would it be. My laptop bag which has - A) My laptop and my con badges. I then also grab my camera bag. I slid shoes on without sock and put on a jacket just in case. I went into the hallway into hazy smoke room. I realize at this point it's serious. Worse case I could jump out the third story window if it was impassible but I easily made it out.

The complex is about 1 1/2 blocks from the fire station which is manned 24/7. So the response was near immediate. The place was cleared out in minutes allowing the fire department to putz with the downstairs apartment.

At first there was a drove of fireman running into the place with axes and hoses. Yelling and screaming. You could see the fire men at the truck ready at any second to turn on the hose. But after a few minutes they put away their axes and hoses fire back in control. So the fire wasn't major.

After about 2 hours I was left back in my apartment at it's worse has some smokiness already I don't notice it from the overnight air out.

So other than some time no real long term results from this. Just thankful it didn't get bad.
